A specially designed camera acquires images without the use of flash or any form of bright or harsh lighting and causes absolutely no discomfort to the animal. Dogs tolerate the procedure very well and are not bothered by it. The whole process takes literally just a few minutes and once the pictures are taken, the computers take over and the animal is free to enjoy the company of their human partner.

When the service is performed remotely, the resulting K9 EyeScan^sm evaluation report is automatically delivered to a pre-designated and approved veterinary clinic or hospital for a review by licensed veterinarians who monitor and treat service K9s.

Results of all evaluations are stored in a secure database and provide the ability to monitor trends by comparing the information gathered from multiple K9 EyeScan^sm evaluations taken over time. The data is readily available via a secured Internet connection to the approved veterinarians and Government or Law Enforcement officials in charge of service animals and their records.
