What is K9
EyeScan ?
K9
EyeScan is the first of its kind, noninvasive, express canine health
evaluation system. This fully automated service performs sophisticated
analyses of digital images of canine eyes, detects specific
characteristics and produces a statistically based evaluation of
possible health problems. K9 EyeScan is designed to help you reduce the
costs and improve the overall quality of healthcare for your pet by
identifying possible existing or developing canine health issues.
How does K9
EyeScan work?
K9 EyeScan uses a specially designed digital camera and highly advanced
computer programs to look for specific characteristics in the images of
canine eyes and then compares the readings to statistical norms,
producing a K9 EyeScan Evaluation Report (“Report”). The Report
identifies variances between statistical norms and specific readings
obtained from your pet and shows them as one of five (5) levels ranging
from “Normal” – meaning no deviations from norms- to “High” – meaning
large deviations from norms. The probability of your pet having a
health issue is proportional to the degree of deviation from
statistical norms.
How long does
it take?
The
scan is convenient, fast, and most importantly – completely painless. A
typical scan takes 4 to 6 minutes. Once the scan is completed, the
computers take over and your pet is free to enjoy your company again.
What do I get?
A
printed K9 EyeScan Evaluation report is provided to you at the time of
service. Additionally, if you so choose, your pet’s Report can be
automatically sent to a veterinarian registered with K9 EyeScan. If
your veterinarian of choice is not registered with K9 EyeScan, simple
instructions explaining how to retrieve the K9 EyeScan Evaluation
report at no additional charge from our web site are provided. We are
not affiliated with any veterinary clinics.
What does K9
EyeScan Evaluation report tell me?
The
Report identifies variances between statistical norms and the specific
readings obtained from your pet and shows them as one of five (5)
levels ranging from “Normal” – meaning no deviations from norms, to
“High” – meaning large deviations from norms. The probability of your
pet having a health issue is proportional to the degree of deviation
from norms among one or more anatomical systems. Since the analyses are
based on statistics, only a licensed veterinarian can provide a true
diagnosis, determine whether or not treatment is required, and/or
proscribe any medication.
It is important
that you not make medical decisions for your pet without first
consulting a licensed veterinarian. You should never disregard
professional medical advice or delay in seeking such advice because of
something you have read on our website, heard from our employees,
officers, partners, affiliates, or read in the Report. IF YOUR PET HAS
A MEDICAL EMERGENCY OR NEEDS IMMEDIATE MEDICAL TREATMENT, PLEASE
CONSULT AN ANIMAL HOSPITAL OR EMERGENCY VETERINARY FACILITY IMMEDIATELY.
How accurate
is K9 EyeScan?
K9
EyeScan Evaluation examines most major canine anatomical systems. The
Report’s accuracy varies from 66% to 93% - depending on the specific
anatomical system involved. The evaluation results are created using
statistical methods, which means that accuracy of results for your pet
may fall outside the range stated above. Only a licensed veterinarian
can provide a true diagnosis, determine whether or not treatment is
required and/or proscribe any medication.
Can I skip
going to a veterinarian if I get the K9 EyeScan Evaluation?

Where can I
get a K9 EyeScan for my dog?
K9
EyeScan is available to general public at scheduled events typically
held at pet stores, pet grooming or boarding shops, veterinary clinics,
as well as other providers of pet-related products or services. Please
visit www.K9EyeScan.com to check for upcoming events and for a list of
participating K9 EyeScan providers.
Why should I
use K9 EyeScan?
Dogs
are very tolerant to discomfort and pain and typically do not show
outward signs of health issues until the problems become advanced. K9
EyeScan provides an easy and convenient way to monitor your dog’s
health, alerting you to possible health issues and gives you the
opportunity to intervene early to treat, and even prevent, possible
disease.

Can K9
EyeScan be done at my home or place of business?
Our equipment is portable. Special arrangements can be made to provide
the service at your home or place of business, which may be convenient
if you have more then one dog. Please note that pricing for such
service is determined based on the amount of travel and scheduling
depends on staff availability.

it cost?
